Bethel’s Operatic Irregulars will
present one of the landmarks of comic opera, Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro,
in a chamber rendition. Performed in a new English translation with a minimal
set and no chorus, it nevertheless retains all the complexity of music and plot
that has made it an undeniable masterwork. The whole plot runs a precarious
gamut of illicit temptation in order to finally confirm a sublime lesson of
fidelity. The production is directed and accompanied by Prof. Robert Rhein.
